The second National Security Education Study Tour, organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and supported by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Shine Tak Foundation, departed for Beijing on 18 December, 2024. The primary school group returned to Hong Kong on 22 December, while the secondary school group proceeded to Shanghai on the same day and returned to Hong Kong on 24 December. Members of the study tour included 130 teachers and students from 10 secondary schools and 9 primary schools that excelled in the Territory-wide Inter-school National Security Knowledge Challenge 2024/25.
During the tour, members of the study tour were warmly received by Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Nong Rong. They visited museums, historical and cultural sites, and internet enterprises, and engaged in in-depth exchanges with local primary and secondary students, observing and learning from one another. Through these activities, the teachers and students strengthened their sense of pride towards our country and the Chinese nation and enhanced their awareness and sense of responsibility in safeguarding national security proactively, and gained a deeper understanding of the profound significance of national security.
